Throwback Thursday (535)

This week we are going back seventeen years to 2009, and to AW 12 turning onto O'Connell Bridge with a service on route 4A to Harristown.

Route 4A started operating between Harristown and Stradbrook (going via Ballymun and Blackrock) in November 2007. It only lasted until September 2010 when it was absorbed into an extended route 4 under Network Direct.

AW 12 was one of twenty articulated buses delivered to Dublin Bus in 2000. Following the launch of the new route 4 in 2010, the AW Class started to be phased out. All members were withdrawn by early-2011. AW 12 was subsequently sold on to an operator in the United Kingdom.
