The Bird
Thank you to the dearest Dee for being my human tripod when I forgot my tripod. Thank you to Dee for taking this picture when my camera was just being too difficult for anything good. I edited a bit more than she initially did though. And I had the idea :3 Count for something?
So my day (yesterday, when this was taken) started off by waking up at eight in the morning. I then proceeded to leave my house promptly at 8:40 to head towards Haley’s to get her bird cage. She crawled out of bed for me and I love her lots, even though she wasn’t invited ;D. After talking for about twenty minutes, I headed over to a fabric store to get a pillow full of feathers that Calee and Ashley got when Dee and I took pictures of them a month or so ago. The fabric/arts and craft store didn’t have any. I then went to the Target next door, hoping they would have it. I was wrong. In utter depression, I proceeded to go to a home goods store to see if I could pick out a pillow that was full of feathers that I could open. By this time, I was cutting extremely close to the time Dee was supposed to come over, 10, but luckily she told me she would be half an hour late. My mother and I searched for those thirty minutes trying to find a pillow that could be easily sewn apart and that was 100% feather-filled. We found it and Dee and I had a “race” to see who could reach my house first. I won. When Dee arrived, we started to get to work on my make-up. It took us a while and by the time we were done, it was around the time my friend Ashley would be arriving. (A different one than mentioned above.) So instead of our original plan to shoot the bird picture before she arrived, we waited for her. At this point we still had to tease my hair. Well, I had to tease it, seeing as Dee didn’t know what she was doing. But may I add she was a great hair-sprayer. So Ashley arrives and her mother sees me like I am in this picture, only ten times worse. (My hair deflated as we built the nest.) We all headed out to our location and started to build our human-sized nest, which involved snapping dead trees in half. By the time we were done, the temperature increased by at least 10 degrees and the sun was pounding down on us so I had to remove my leather jacket that I wanted in this picture. It takes us forever to figure out the feather throwing and the picture taking and the lighting and what not and finally we finish up. After we finish, we pack up all of our things (feathers, phones, cage, jacket, fancy shoes, combs, and water) and hide them away from the sidewalk so people won’t steal them, and we grab our cameras and start adventuring. We run from snakes. We avoid dog poop. We wade in water. We climb trees. And we do other nonsense as I take mostly film pictures with Mickey. Right before we go back, Dee and I try to go back to this crate we saw a while ago, with Ashley following behind. This requires balancing on a small pipe through some disgusting and muddy water. Dee slipped and her foot is in the water in no time. I slip as well and the same happens to me. Ashley decided not to come across. (She was smart.) So we head back, seeing as Ashley had to go home, and Dee and I try to wash off our one dirty and wet shoe. I believe my shoe will be okay. Her Tom will not. After Ashley leaves, we go back out to take more film pictures and to stomp on a book, without shoes on. We had already made a plan to go to Wal-Mart to buy really cheap and expendable yet semi-cute shoes that we could wear on photoshoots and not care if they got ruined. We finish my roll of film and go to the store. I wear flip-flops and Dee is forced on wearing her…hobo…shoes. It was the funniest thing. We get shoes and candy and then I bid her farewell. My mother then takes me to get my film developed and we waste time by going to a pet store and other miscellaneous stores. The film gets developed in less than thirty minutes instead of an hour and they come out even better than I thought! My last roll with my Holga, everything came out white, and I hadn’t used this film camera yet. I then rushed home and scanned them on to my laptop and put them on facebook for Dee to see. I’ll upload the good ones soon! Along with all the other film cameras I have promised ;D
Yeah. So. That was my day. Now today I have to do homework and study. Yay.
This is for my Animal Project with Mell P. Check out her bird picture, which she uploaded 2 weeks ago. Because she knows how to do something on time and I don’t. This is bird. If you didn’t guess by now.
This angle doesn’t show how AMAZING the nest is. But this angle just looked better.
