As seen from between the flanges on the siding in Middle River, SOO 2403 still holds down the rails among the far ends of Minnesota's railroad network. This motor has been on Independent Locmotive Service's parts and/or "We'll get to it eventually..." list. I think about its significance as one of the sole Soo candy apple red survivors. It has lived in Middle River along the Minnesota Northern for at least 10 years.
