Too Soon for Irrigation
The Cass Lake Local is headed back to Grand Forks from its namesake community over in Cass County, Minnesota. In contrast to the day before when the train was eastbound, there is a couple inches of snow, strong winds, and low visibility. Winter making another visit, as usual, in the first half of April. The soil here near Fisher appears tilled and ready to go, so some added moisture in the soil is likely a welcomed sight, but who really wants more winter? Big time Oof Da.
There is a healthy amount of cars on the westbound Cass Lake Local. I am not sure where all the traffic is from, but obviously forest product traffic from the Bemidji area as well as interchanged from the Minnesota Northern, including the loaded gravel hoppers from the Strata Corporation, and on-line customers like Crookston Bean.
