Generational Differences
An opportunity too good to pass up. Alco 2-8-2, SOO 1011, is seen alongside modern CN GE power in Ladysmith, Wisconsin assembling cars in the small yard in town. Nice to see so much Soo Line preservation in town. It really gives Ladysmith much added character.
As a side note, 1011 is a sister locomotive to SOO 1024 that is displayed outside the Thief River Falls, Minnesota Soo Line Depot. Efforts are ongoing to add a roof structure to 1024 modeled after such displays like this one in Ladysmith.
