100k views across all of my Flickr photos!?

My Flickr account recently passed 100k views across all of my photos. Now that's something I never expected!

I purchased my first DSLR in February of 2011 to shoot video. I soon stumbled across Jen and a Camera 's inspiring photos on Tumblr. I clicked through to her shots on Flickr and I noticed the constructive criticism on her shots that came from voting pools like The Hot Box.. I submitted a few shots to the Hot Box pool and people would tell me WHY my photos sucked. I initially joined Flickr for feedback on my photos and I think I am a confident photographer today because of the feedback I found on Flickr.

Every artist wants an audience. This is a place where people will actually look at your photos. The comments and favorites are positive reinforcement, no doubt. I also found out that Flickr is a great place to submit photos to blogs. It's great for your ego to see one of your shots on a website that you respect. I can honestly say that I probably wouldn't be pursuing photography at this pace if it wasn't for the feedback on Flickr. 100K views across all of my photos(375) in 21 months??? Flickr isn't dead! This is more evidence that we currently live in the best time to date to distribute photos.
