A study of Waverley Station . Recent refurbishment work has created a beautiful station retaining the original sandstone buildings and iron work . The highlight is the new roof which provides wonderful natural light and great shadows. The station was first opened in 1846 and was rebuilt between 1892-1902. It lies between the old town and modern Edinburgh, adjacent to Princes Street, Edinburgh Castle and the Princes Street Gardens.34,000 square metres of new glass fitted and ornate iron work restored.The old Post Office sorting office has been removed to make way for an open space that is hoped will become a venue for Edinburgh Festival and other events.
