Two Proud Veterans
Two Royal Navy Commando Beachmasters, veterans of landings in North Africa, Sicily and Normandy, relax in a London Pub after marching at the Cenotaph. Ken Oakley (87) sits in front of his son Keith with his grandaughter (sorry didn't get the name) to his right. Ken's comrade Jim Watson stands behind him to his left. They were the last two surviviors to march at the Cenotaph - a joy to talk to and an inspiration to us all. They were amongst the first ashore on invasion beaches to marshall the arriving landing craft and forward men and equipment from the beachead. Hope to see you again next year gents!
