Building day 5:

I forgot to take photos of the deck beam tenon marking & cutting.

This was a lot of work, thanks a lot to my father for helping me a lot with the saw

and the Fein-Grinder-tool (that´s his favorite tool! Not mine, it´s too loud) The undersides of the deck beams are rounded.

 

Building day 6:

The deck beams were fitted, spanish windlasses and mechanic tension belts were used.

The Sheerboard ends were joined using trunnels (dowels with wedges in the ends) and

the first lashings were made

Then deck beams were top-pegged and the ends sawn flush.

 

Building day 7:

the deck was lashed - and like in the original - some deck beams were fastened diagonal pegs, some with lashings. Also forgot to take photos, the building starts to feel like work.
