The chestnut-winged starling (Onychognathus fulgidus) is a glossy, medium-sized starling found across parts of East Africa, often inhabiting rocky cliffs, savannas, and woodland edges. It is easily recognized by its dark, iridescent plumage contrasted with rich chestnut-colored wings that flash warmly in flight. Highly social and vocal, these birds are frequently seen in pairs or small groups, foraging for insects and fruit. Their striking coloration and lively behavior make the chestnut-winged starling a rewarding subject for observation and photography.
