Granite with basalt xenolith, Smoky Cape, Hat Head National Park, NSW, 07/01/12

d63747a. A xenolith with phenocrysts! The large crystals in the basalt are phenocrysts. They presumably grew after the basalt chunk was incorporated into the granite magma, and not in the original basalt phase.
