Who am I? A question we all ask ourselves pretty often, the hardest part is answering it. Who I really am doesn’t really deal with my photography but my pictures show what I like. I like to be outside, so therefore, I like pictures of the outdoors, the woods, and the landscape of things. My favorite thing to do is hunt; I have been hunting for years now. Hunting is a big thing in my family, and always has been. I guess I could say that why my pictures lean more to the outdoors then anything else. I would love for all my pictures to be in the woods, I think being in the woods is a great feeling; it’s very calming and also beautiful.
The way I take my photos are the way I see them. When I see a bright sun over top of a beautiful big tree, I snap a shot. I take certain pictures because it’s what I like, and I know someone else out there is going to like it too. My style of photography is all about whom I am, you can see that I love nature. All my pictures are outside, or in the woods, to me those are the prettiest pictures. The pictures that show who you are are the most beautiful ones, because there’s meaning behind them, and they just turn out so great.
In my self portrait viewers really get to see the real me, the hunter and the happy girl. I chose the picture I took because it shows viewers who I am and it also shows what my life is all about. Honestly, my life is full of hunting, I love to hunt and I would never change that. I have a smile on my face because it makes me truly happy. I’m also wearing the clothes I am because that’s exactly what I wear when I go hunting. I have my work boots on because that is also the type of shoes I wear, because I climb up hills and rocks and it’s tough with any other kind of shoe. I put my gun in the picture because it describes that I actually like to shot and kill animals, if the gun wasn’t in the picture then it would only show how I like camo.
I chose to do my alter ego as a PETA person. I like it works really well because everyone knows that I hunt and that I’m definitely not involved with PETA. I thought the idea of PETA was very interesting, since I actually like to kill animals, its I do all winter and spring, and sometimes fall too. Some people aren’t okay with it, which would be the PETA group, and those people are complete opposites of me. Since I was so different from them, I thought that would work very well. I’m wearing very casual clothes with bright colors, because those people are very casual and they like to stick out. They are different and I wanted to look different. Also the reason I chose not to smile was because I was trying not to be happy because everyone who kills animals makes me sad. I also wasn’t happy because animals are being abused and such. Both of my photos are quite interesting to me, because they are truly me, it’s not something that I just like to do, but it’s all I do.
