Raper Creek Falls
Thought I'd re-post this one since I haven't been able to see any waterfalls for awhile...they're all dried up here!
This photo is a great reason that I like doing my waterfall shooting in the wintertime. The lush rhododendron around it and most other waterfalls makes it pretty much impossible to tell what time of year the shot was taken anyway. The waterfall will just about always be found with a great flow of water, and much more likely to find long stretches of overcast weather for the perfect lighting needed for the best shot. Perhaps the best part, few people out on the roads traveling and rare to even see another person save the most touristy falls. Last year we did a waterfall trip Super Bowl Weekend and the outdoors was almost totally void of hikers and sight-seers. Probably make that an annual event from now on.
