024/365 The Was a Crooked Man

There was a crooked man, and he walked a crooked mile.

He found a crooked sixpence upon a crooked stile.

He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse,

and they all lived together in a little crooked house.

The nursery rhyme was first recorded in print by James Orchard Halliwell in 1842. One theory is that the rhyme could have originated in the once prosperous wool merchant’s village of Lavenham, about 70 miles northeast of London, having been inspired by its multicolored half-timbered houses leaning at irregular angles as if they are supporting each other.

All of this has absolutely nothing to do with this adobe wall which has had this door added and painted a fabulous colour blue albeit at an angle. Add a couple of chile ristras and it's a NM photographer's dream.
