18th February - Light
And after all the improvement she had made, the restored optimism within the family that she might make it home, today my lovely, wonderful, strong, funny, adored Grandmother, died. We think she was sitting in the chair by her bed, and quietly passed away. Her heart finally gave out.
We had started to believe that, whilst her time left was almost certainly not long, that she might yet make it home. She had battled and rallied. She was an amazingly resilient woman. This is a shock, albeit not entirely a surprise.
Sleep well Mammar, you will be deeply missed.
