18th August - Cake
We had a visit this afternoon from some good family friends (best friends of my parents) and their eldest daughter. Jenny is getting married in under 2 weeks' time and this is a chocolate and beer cake made by her (very talented cook of a) father. It will be a featuring as part of the wedding cake.
It might sound slightly odd, but it's a collaboration between a local baker (also a close family friend) and the local brewery. Steve (father of the bride) has helped the baker to develop the recipe and delicious it is too.
I'm looking forward to trying some more at the wedding reception a week on Friday.
