The Apache Railway with Montreal Locomotive Works (MLW) C-424 # 98 and trailing is American Locomotive Company (Alco) C-420 #81 on a short freight. The 98 is headed back to the interchange with the BNSF Transcon at Holbrook, Arizona. Considering what happened to the Apache Railway since then, I am glad I talked the group I was traveling with into a visit. I had/have worked with Alco products in my railroad career. As the group neared Holbrook, I asked if anyone besides me had ever heard an Alco product in person. No one? Well, I have a treat for you.
