This video takes a brief look at the National Postal Museum, with an emphasis on vehicles used in delivering the mail, from stagecoach to planes. The Museum is divided into five galleries that explore America's postal history from colonial times to the present and cover the printing process, adornments worn by postal employees, mailboxes and just about everything else related to postage and the delivery of mail. In addition to many exhibits and multimedia displays, rare postage stamps are stored in hundreds of metal drawers that visitors are free to open and explore. The museum is housed in the historic City Post Office Building, which served as the Washington, D.C., post office from 1914 through 1986.
