Fidelio

Venice Hypothetical invited students, working in teams, to imagine for Venice a hypothetical past (which did not happen) or a counterfactual future (which might happen, however improbable), and then design and prototype for it an interactive service accessed by mobile phone.

 

For our Venice Hypothetical we imagined a society that rejects modernism, nostalgic for Venice's ancient splendour. Fidelio is a mobile application for aspiring members of an elitist club which aims to renew Venice's glory, restoring and preserving its ancient splendor, idolizing beauty, form, good manners. The mission of Fidelio is to build a gentleman.

 

Venice Hypothetical is an interaction design studio project in the graduate programme in Communication and Multimedia Design in the Faculty of Design and Arts at Iuav University of Venice 2010/2011.
