Milk churn stand, Wensleydale, North Yorkshire

These were once very common but are now beginning to disappear. This one was sited on the main road at the farm gate at the top of a very steep track which led down to the farm at Nappa Hall, Wensleydale. The farm is still used for livestock but not for dairy. A quick pencil and watercolour sketch during a break from recording work at the hall a few years ago.
