In the foreground 3 Chapter House Street, a late medieval house with a stone ground floor and formerly jettied, timber framed upper storey. It was enlarged and encased in brick in the 17th century, when the jetty was removed. Another medieval house lies behind, incorporated into an 18th century house on Minster Yard. Behind is the Lady Chapel and Choir of York Minster. The Lady Chapel was built in 1361-73, the Choir between 1394 and 1420.
