The Warrior is a Mythological constant and finds itself in a prominent role in nearly all Global cultures at some point. Of course, we can relate this to the struggle to survive against harsh adversaries, to the unthinkable fact that force majeure could be simply natural, and many other avenues, yet, I think the psychologic behind such figures runs deeper. The real reason Warrior deities and war itself continues is not simply the fact that when we first begin as sperm swimming and eggs dividing to eventually collide and collude with each other to form a new self that then ceaselessly divides and then later constantly dies; rather, it is due to the psychological issue of not accepting, facing, understanding, and especially not integrating all of these things. There is a deficit in our psyches that continues to amass more material every moment of every day, of every life, of every Age, of every parallel dimension, of every universe, of every creation and black hole. Some refer to it as C.G. Jung has, as a collective unconscious, others a collective conscious, and others this god or that God. If we choose to ignore it at any point and not to deal with it, then it combines with all the other ‘undealt with’ things in the massive collective deficit. It is from this collective deficit that wars and Warrior deities emerge. This image, in a slightly different and previous incarnation and in Black & White is the front cover image for the 2002-3 issue of "between" the student-run and -published Journal of Pacifica Graduate Institute: www.thebetween.org. In this version, however, there are four of the same images repeating themselves, albeit one is transformed. This alludes to the cosmically important number of four, the quaternity, the quad, the square, quarters, levels of worlds in the Kabbalah, etc.
