Black-and-white Warbler in Irvine, CA
With a little effort, this Black-and-white Warbler was finally relocated at Mason Regional Park during the Orange County Coastal Christmas Bird Count, held January 1, 2017 (the bird was initially found on 26 November, 2016). It was almost like the warbler was playing "peek-a-boo" with me for a few minutes, as I attempted to get photos of it. Even though it was often creeping around on willow trunks at eye level, and for a time as close as 10 feet(!), a high percentage of the photos taken ended up being of a bare tree trunk, or just a warbler-shaped blur, as the bird was constantly on the move.
