Grand Canyon NP | North Rim | Cliffrose / Cowania stansburiana

Cliff roses in bloom are a beautiful summer detail in this amazing National Park. They are a tree-like, evergreen shrub with showy cream-colored blossoms and wispy white plumed seeds. A US Park Service trail sign near a specimen along a trail, indicated that Hopi Indians used the plant to make sandals, mats, and rope from its stringy bark, arrows from the wood, and medicine from the foliage. These were seen near the Walhala Overlook.
