Old Station Signs

Two old railway station signs from the Southport area . Formby is still open today as part of the Merseyrail network but , alas , St. Lukes has disappeared .

Southport St. Lukes opened in 1883 as "Barton Street" , was later renamed " Southport ( St . Lukes Road ) " , then " Southport ( St. Lukes ) " during which time it absorbed " Southport Ash Street " station , and finally just "St. Lukes " in about 1915 . It closed in 1965 .
