L'abbaye Saint-Sauveur de Figeac
Saint-Sauveur abbey was founded in 838 by King Pepin I of Aquitaine at the request of the abbey Sainte-Foy de Conques to compensate for its remoteness and replace the destroyed monastery of Jonant (sometimes called Lunan). These two abbeys had to remain independent but have a common abbot. As the monks of Figeac did not support this authority of the Abbey of Conques, they created fakes to make their foundation go up to Pepin the Short in 755, that is to say 40 years before the foundation of the abbey of Conques.
