Sanders 400 0930hrs Holt to Norwich 301118
Under a blue sky and in bright morning sunshine, Sanders former J Fishwick of Leyland Wright Pulsar bodied VDL SB200 type number 400 - YJ64 FWF is captured on the outskirts of Thornage village as it heads for Norwich with the above service 45 journey. As from 29th April 2018, the number of journeys on the Monday to Friday service 45 timetable was increased with the introduction of four short workings in each direction over the Norwich - Felthorpe section. However, they were withdrawn after operation on Friday 12th October 2018 and the Monday to Saturday frequency reverted to the pre April 2018 level of two am Holt - Norwich and two pm Norwich - Holt journeys with one of the latter numbered 45A and running by way of Reepham and Cawston from Monday to Friday.
Behind the trees on either side of 400 is the field which was used as the cricket pitch in the 1971 film of L P Hartley’s novel “The Go Between” starring Julie Christie, Alan Bates and Margaret Leighton. As usual, I got a friendly acknowledgement from this driver.
