Poolside Contemplation

It is good sometimes to take a quiet moment, to mind wander, to mind quiet, to simply be completely in that very moment and not ask any more of it than quiet.

Last year I went to the Oregon Country Fair, and then headed straight to Kamloops to visit a very dear friend. We were both trying to make sense out of life situations, trying to forgive transgressions by those we held close to our hearts.

Her property is across the river from sacred Indian land. The rolling hills are covered in sagebrush, and on a hot day the scent drifts over her property, lending itself to the feeling of contemplation.

One year has passed, and we are both in different situations now, but even so, little has changed. We still have heavy hearts, we are still trying to keep our focus, and remain present in the moment.
