New York Life Insurance building and the Aldred Building
The red New York Life Insurance building (1889) alongside the art deco style Aldred Building (1931) on Place d'Armes in Old Montreal. At the time of its construction, the NY Life building was the tallest in Montreal. The red sandstone was imported from Dumfriesshire, Scotland and really sets this building apart from its neighbours.
