A new contemporary carousel was officially opened on the Rose Kennedy Greenway in Boston, MA on 31 August 2013. It replaced a leased ride with an innovative custom built design. Sculptor Jeff Briggs designed and fabricated the critters and artist William Rogers painted them. It is a fairly small carousel - three abreast with the outer two rows moving up and down. The 14 critters include: Grasshopper,squirrel, rabbit, fox, skunk, butterflies, falcon, barn owl, lobster, sea turtle, cod, seal, serpent and whale. The ride has a totl of 36 seats.
