Pleasure Time

This sign amuses me. It looks like it belongs abroad, in a run down area of a European city centre. The typeface is so plain and dull and the vertical setting makes it so hard to read without any proper spacing in it. There is barely any space between the two words. I think it was such a bold and brash move from the owners of the shop which has now closed down, i wonder if they had to fight for permission to do it? As I'm sure you can tell it's in a far more run-down area of Leeds compared to the arcade signs and the high street. It looks so cheap. As it's no longer apparent what it's there for it's completely pointless too. Haha.
