Chef Timothy Cipriano and US Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro at the kick-off of the New Haven Public Schools Health Heroes Social Marketing Campaign and Chefs Move to Schools sampling Apple "spaghetti". Chef Tim and Congresswoman DeLauro visited several Classrooms and spoke to the students about the importance of supporting local agriculture and eating real foods. Together they used a New England Apple corer, peeler, slicer to make apple spaghetti (the skin of the apple is peeled off as the apple spins and the peeled skin resembles apaghetti). The children devoured the apple spaghetti and the apple slices. The apples were all grown at CT farms and generously donated by Freshpoint Connecticut for the event.
