Yesterday was National Train Day, which is Amtrak's invention and which occurs on the Saturday closest to the anniversary of the completion of the original Transcontinental Railroad (May 10, 1869.) Since I don't have any interesting train pictures at the moment, I'll have to honor the 144th year since the Golden Spike joined the rails, with a picture of one of these boring purple things.
