Wrong Way Around

Photographer unknown

Late one date near the end of 1967, one of the East Coast-Florida trains makes a station stop at Fort Lauderdale. Bringing up the rear, and not doing a particularly useful job at it, is one of Louisville & Nashville's "Royal" series 5 Bedroom-Buffet-Lounge-Obs. cars. Two cars ("Royal Canal" and "Royal Street") were builf for the L&N by P-S on Lot 6814. They were originally part of L&N's portion of Southern's Crescent car pool. It is not known to me why the car is running the wrong way around, but there must not have been relevant turning facilities for this leg of the train's run or the car was deadheading (which is also possible, considering two Diners are coupled just ahead).
