Sikh Environment Day coordinator, Dr. Ginny Kaur Chawla, shared the message of 'Pavan Guru Pani Pita, Mata Dharat Mahat' with sangat members. The teachers at GNCA, Guru Nanak Children's Academy, held discussions with children on importance of reducing, resuing and recycling. Children expressed their thoughts on how to implement changes in their daily lives and be more eco-friendly Sikhs on poster board. Kirtan was also performed, followed by EcoSikh's PowerPoint presentation on 'Sikh Vision on Environment', and two short videos shown on how Gurbani relates to the environment. Flyers, posters and banners were put throughout the Gurdwara Sahib to create more awareness. Use of steel langar utensils was also initiated to limit the use of disposables and Styrofoam.
