Disk Flower

This is a disk flower, one of the flowers from a sunflower. It is a male or female and are fertile turning into sunflower seeds, the other flowers, ray flowers are normally infertile. This is an example of reductionism in evolution. The center of the sunflower is made up of many of these flowers
