Chicken Embryo at 24 hours
This picture shows a chicken embryo 24 hours after fertilization. When we looked through the microscope, the first thing we noticed were the vertebrae of this embryo. Other things we labeled on this slide were the appearance of the notochord, forebrain, and hind brain. An interesting thing about this embryo is that it is similar to how we looked during our 24th hour of life. There is a clear "top" to this embryo and a clear "bottom", which can also be seen in a human.
