Layering 3
This assignment involved a multi-step process in which several different photographs were taken- in this case, an image of a city from a poster in the classroom and a photograph of clouds in the sky. Using the Photoshop programme by working with the "layers" feature, the cloud image was layered on top of the city, and the transparency levels were adjusted to allow the city to be viewed behind the clouds in order to create an illusion of nuclear fallout. This assignment was interesting because it allowed me to work with multiple features in Photoshop simultaneously and gave me experience in combining and manipulating images. It demonstrated how significant an impact an alteration to the light, shadow, and textural effects of an image through the layering process has on the overall tone of the image.
