Prospect Harbor Light

Nearly three solid days of rain and fog showed us why a lighthouse was needed at the entrance to Prospect Harbor, Maine. The original lighthouse in a thriving fishing village was activated in 1850, but was replaced in 1891 with the current wood framed lighthouse. As most modern, working lighthouses, Prospect Harbor Light was automated in 1951.
