Green Bee on a Spider(-wort)

Beneath the smoky brown wings of the bee, its abdomen had rings of white hair, indicated that it was a female Virescent Green Metallic Bee (Agapostemon virescens). It was a very attractive small bee,

 

The intense bluish flowers, with only three petals per flower was called Prairie Spiderwort in one field guide; Western Spiderwort in another guide. Both guides agreed that its scientific name is "Tradescantia occidentalis".
