"It's So Beautiful"
Glen Lake, actually two lakes, Little Glen and Big Glen Lake, is considered by many to be the most beautiful lake in Michigan. I remember hearing as early as college days that National Geographic once proclaimed Glen Lake among the most beautiful in the world. I tried many times to verify this claim to no avail, but for me it's true enough.
For this picture I climbed the three dunes at the Dune Climb of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore to the highest point, 1024 feet (312 m), and took this picture into the sun.
NOTE: Several people have commented on the fisherman in the picture...THEY ARE NOT FISHERMEN...we are standing over 1100 feet above the lakes, on top of the sand dunes!!!
