I managed to pick up couple of pheasants that had sadly been killed on the local roads. Placing them along the woodland edge at Rhydymyn I set up the camera traps we have and left with great anticipation of what would get caught on ‘film’.
I expected to get some foxes and badgers scavenging off the carcasses, however, the buzzards finding them was a bit of a welcome surprise. The squirrel was cacheing acorns and just happened to choose the spot right by the camera to hide its winter food.
I had hoped for the polecats to come along, but I’ll keep my fingers crossed for next time. I’m going to keep my eyes open for any further road kill and will try to keep the spot stocked up for the scavengers over the winter months.
Who knows what we will catch!!
