Raisuke

Raisuke was born into a family of retainers for the noble house of the Emperor, and was raised to be the personal bodyguard of the young princess Himeko. His father, the current head of the family's protection, taught him in the arts of strategy and warfare first and foremost after catching wind of his son's keen intellect and wisdom from a young age before moving him into the realms of swordsmanship. However, it was soon apparent that his body type was more adept towards kodachi and tanto swordsplay than the honorable katana, but he made use of his agility and lean strength to compensate for the lack of range and pure physical strength. Everything seemed to be well for him and his family until his tenth season, when war broke out across the land and the captial was attacked by the coming Fuedal Lord. Charged with protecting Himeko he left his father to the battlefield and moved with a fellow retainer from a different family, only to find that they had betrayed him and their princess. Raisuke attempted to defend the girl but to no avail with the sheer numbers overwhelming him, and was forced to watch his family, his beliefs, and his princess fall before his eyes. In the midst of this he passed out only to be found by a traveling shinobi who saved him from the blaze, and left him outside of Kyoto...where he spent the next two to three years living on the streets. There he saw the true poverty in the world, and adepted his military intelligence with streetsmarts to grow and live in the dog eat dog world with a vow to one day redeem himself and change it for the better. When he was thirteen he came across a traveling monk who told him he was destined to follow the road of Seiryuu, and took him under his wing. For the next few years he was disciplined in the Tenga Ryu Ken and learned arts of the spirits of win and ice. By the time he sixteen he was declared a master in his craft and ready to walk the roads of his destiny...and when he re-entered the world he found it on the brink of war once more, and seeking a master to give his strategies and blade to serve...or to become a lord to end the tide of chaos himself.
