Responsive LED Canopy {side view}

A set of overhead LEDs are arranged to form an interactive canopy of light. The presence of people triggers the LEDs to light up, forming an architectural surface that is ambiguous and dynamic, rather than continuous and static.

 

This was presented as a test-of-concept at an end-of-quarter thesis review presentation at UCLA Design | Media Arts, March 2009.
