Real streamline
The Burlington Zephyr, a.k.a. the Silver Streak. It was the railway sensation of 1934, making a one-day ride from Denver to Chicago with an average speed of 77 mph (124 km/h). Only eight or ten of these sleek and fast dieseltrains were built, far too few to lure travellers back to the train and save the railways. This one is after extensive restoration preserved at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry.
