The black vest is actually the newest version of my hack job pattern. I'm still not thrilled with it, but it is a nice improvement over the first. The hips aren't as full, so it lays a bit better.

 

I used a jersey fabric (which I kind of hate working with, I have discovered) for the newest, so the fabric drapes a bit more nicely than felt obviously. I think that I will need to put in a small dart in the back, though I may not bother to make it completely fitted at the back.

 

The arm holes will also need some adjusting, as well as the neckline, but that should be easy.
