This is my daughter at ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center in Burlington, Vermont. This wasn't a window to an aquarium, it's actually just a big blue light that illuminates some stairs. I'll be able to do shots like this much better with my new lens soon.
I just bought my first DSLR online a couple of days ago. I got the Canon Rebel Xsi with the kit lens, which I've read is an improvement from the one that came with the Xti. I wanted the Live View feature also, so that made my decision for me. I was considering getting the body only with a Tamron 17-50mm zoom lens, but decided against it because I couldn't spend that much more. I also got the much touted Canon 50mm F/1.4 lens for it (which would have been great for a better version of this shot). Can't wait to get my new toys in the next week, I'm giddy with anticipation! : )
I want a good wide angle and macro lens eventually, too. I'd probably want a zoom lens with macro capability (or a prime) and a 10mm-20mm wide angle. Any recommendations?
