Yorkshire, Doncaster, Christ Church
In 1821 John Jarratt, a local business man donated money for the building of a new parish church and an 1826 Act of Parliament allowed the erection of Christ Church on 2 acres of waste ground known as the Sand Pits - Built of roche stone it was,completed in 1829.
As the population grew the east end was enlarged in 1856 designed by Sir Gilbert Scott,.
By 1989 the building had deteriorated becoming too expensive to maintain and the church was declared redundant.
In 1994 it was bought for £5 by the Reachout Christian Fellowship who 10 years later at a cost of c£1 million opened it again for public worship. Windows by Caponnier
