Geoffrey who is said to have "come out of Sussex " to Leicestershire, was the son of Richard May & Margaret Dalley of Tunbridge. His father was the second son of Thomas May of Faunt.
Thomas May of Faunt in turn descended from John May, younger son of Richard May citizen of London,
A Richard May was one of 4 free holders here in 1630
Geoffrey had a younger brother John who died without issue in Ireland.
