Her grandfather Sir Thomas Michell 1539 on 13 December 1539 at his home called Gurney Street (or Gurney Manor), Cannington, murdered his wife and her sister Eleanor, wife of George Sydenham of Chilworthy, near Ilminster, before committing suicide.
